Project Overview

Udhaar Card is a micro-lending app concept designed to simplify short-term borrowing for users in India. The aim was to create a clean, intuitive user experience that makes borrowing money as easy as ordering a cup of chai.

Problem Statement

In a market crowded with complex fintech apps, users—especially from Tier 2/3 cities—struggle with accessibility, trust, and financial clarity. The challenge was to:

  • Build trust from the first screen

  • Create frictionless borrowing interactions

  • Design a UI suited for mobile-first users with limited tech literacy

Goal

Design a user-friendly mobile app experience that enables users to:

  • Register, log in, and reset passwords easily

  • Understand their loan eligibility

  • Borrow small amounts quickly and repay with full transparency

UX Approach

Visual Strategy

  • Splash Screen Concepts: Multiple branding directions tested for emotional resonance with "Cutting Chai of Loans" as the central theme.

  • Login Flow: Minimalist login/registration screens, emphasizing clarity for first-time users.

  • Dashboard UI: Designed to show real-time available credit, EMI options, and a clean call-to-action button for “Request Loan.”

Design Decisions

  • Micro-interactions for selection (loan amount & duration)

  • Color coding to build trust and highlight available credit

  • Clean separation of what the user “gets” vs “returns” for transparency

Key Screens

Outcome

The design aligns with both user empathy and fintech UX standards. The use of familiar language, bold typography, and friendly CTAs makes the experience stress-free and intuitive.
